Chris Abbey > First shot from the safari. Here's the SOoC jpeg for comparison.

What I did: fixed the white balance, very slight tweak to the levels... all in raw conversion, healed/dodged/burned out some annoying distractions. I don't think any of the dodge/burn work was anything that couldn't have been done in darkroom.... probably even the heal if you had enough time to kill.

I'm thinking metallic paper for this... :)

MC Escher in da house!

What I did: fixed the white balance, very slight tweak to the levels... all in raw conversion, cloned out an annoying distraction.
Chris Abbey > third shot for the safari, this is an HDR of two shots, SOoC jpegs: windows and building and Sign.

What I did: massive change in the raw processing on both images to get the exposures I wanted for the two parts. they became layers in PS then and I painted a layer mask to control which was exposed in the final image. 95% of the layer mask was done by PS with a few quick strokes of the magic selector.... the remaining 5% was done by hand cleaning it up.

Cons: the long exposure in the back layer (1.6seconds) + 20D + warm chip (I'd been shooting a lot of long exposures by this point in the night) + massive raw exposure compensation = noise. There's less than some would think, the stonework is heavily textured, that's not all noise, but if you look close at some areas you can see it. Well, I saw it in PS, at 300% zoom....

Bonus: find the horse

I'd love to do Fuji Pearl paperp here, but will probably do metallic instead, since we offer it and I would have to jump through hoops to get a print of it in time. Might still try.
Chris Abbey > fourth shot for the safari, SOoC is here.

Ghost Tree

what I did: some minor contrast adjustments in raw conversion, color temp adustment. Rotated and croppped.

The idea didn't come out as well as I hoped, main detractors: filth on wall, street sign shadow.
Chris Abbey > Fifth safari image. SOoC is here.

What I did: custom raw conversion, tight crop, spot curved the office windows way way down.

Definently thinking Metallic print for this.
