Chris Abbey > This long promenade of trees and lawn seperates an active agricultural field (soy beans this year) from a local park's ball diamonds.
Chris Abbey > St. Francis of Assisi convent; a 3-story Italian Romanesque building atop Assisi Heights, is home to the sisters of St. Francis. The structure bears a striking resemblance to the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Italy. The convent has a unique red tile roof, slate floors, a Romanesque ceiling, and beautiful hand-blown stained glass windows from Germany.
Chris Abbey > While the state bird is arguably either the Loon or the mosquito, Rochester's city bird is clearly the Giant Canada Goose, here a small flock makes more use of a local park's sports fields than humans do most days.
Chris Abbey > Rochester is an old city, there are many old stone buildings scattered through out. This appears to have been a stone grain silo that was part of a farm on the east side of the city. It's now mostly soccer fields and baseball diamonds.
Chris Abbey > Soldiers Field Vetrans Memorial.
Chris Abbey > The main memorial wall.
Chris Abbey > The statue's view of Rochester behind the Stars and Stripes.
Chris Abbey > 1/4 of the mural around the memorial. (SW corner)
Chris Abbey > 1/4 of the mural around the memorial. (SE corner)

The other 1/2 of it, on the north side, is virtually imposible to view on a sunny day, as you are looking into the sun to see it.
